The TPP: Canadian businesses are not ready
School of Business Assistant Professor Hassan Wafai published an opinion-editorial in the Materials Management and Distribution - Canada’s Supply Chain Magazine January/February 2016 edition which outlines why Canadian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are not ready to take advantage of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
Here is an excerpt:
“Bailouts are short-term thinking - the opportunities for Canadian businesses presented by the TPP require a longer term national and multi-sectoral strategy that facilitates acquiring these integrative capabilities. Instead of giving Canadian businesses fish, the feds need to help them learn how to fish in the new ocean of an emerging global economy that the TPP taps into.”
