Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week
Pay Group: $25.25 per hour, Pay Grade 6

DEPARTMENT: Sustainability

POSITION FUNCTION
Perform research functions and statistical analysis related to the project.

KEY DUTIES
Research activities related to the project; initiate and coordinate the collection of data; investigate trends and developments; analyze statistics and participation in the delivery of these findings.

Prepare and a variety of reports such as consultation materials, fact sheets, articles for presentation to staff and council. Consult with departments and the public.

Update computer files and records from source data and prepare statistical reports; assist in the production and updating of reports.

Perform related duties where qualified.

INDEPENDENCE
Work is assigned by supervisor and designated staff.
Work is reviewed upon completion.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Physical Effort:
Sit with arms unsupported while keyboarding. (frequent)
Mental Effort:
Short periods of concentration while preparing reports and recommendations. (frequent)
Visual/Auditory Effort:
Focus on a variety of source data and detailed drawings for short periods while reviewing applications
and preparing reports. (frequent)
Work Environment:
Office.

KEY SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Organize and prioritize work.
Understand and apply the principles of research techniques.
Working level operation of current City word processing, spreadsheet and related specialty software.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships.
Deal with the public in a courteous and tactful manner.

QUALIFICATIONS
Formal Education, Training and Occupational Certification:
High school graduation.
Accredited courses in related discipline. (1 year)
Current and valid Class 5 drivers licence.
Experience:
6 months related experience
OTHER:
May be requested to substitute in a more senior position.
