Cultural Activities AssistantInternational Programs Office
Reporting to the Director of International Custom Contract training, you will help coordinate and participate in international student activities and events throughout the summer as a part of the cultural experience for various summer programs being offered. You will work directly with the international students, taking them on activities, & making announcements during class. You will provide event planning and administrative support to the International program office. Having sound knowledge of the university and its history, you will also provide castle tours to students and delegations as requested.
To be well suited to the role you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:
- A minimum of one year relevant experience
- Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
- Experience successfully organizing activities and events
- Experience working in a multicultural environment
- Enthusiasm for working with students from overseas
- You must have a valid class 4 driver’s license in good standing
- Fluency in spoken Mandarin or Japanese would be an asset
This is a casual, on-call position that may include evenings and weekends. The hourly wage is $18.00 and the University is pleased to offer a percentage of salary in lieu of vacation.
