As our full-time Communications Specialist, you will be responsible for providing professional communication services including corporate communications, creating and editing corporate publications including the intranet and internet, managing communication projects, and participating in communication planning for corporate initiatives. Your key responsibilities will include developing and executing communications for Island Savings such as: internal and external websites and social media sites, annual reports, employee publications, media and community relations. Professional communication services include managing communication contractors and projects, and leading communication planning for corporate initiatives to engage and inform key audiences. Key accountabilities are for the accuracy and timeliness of materials produced and projects lead, as well as for contribution to the overall results achieved by Marketing. This will require you to work with many levels of the organization and our agency.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to look at things from the perspective of the consumer. Your skill set also includes excellent organizational and project management abilities and you enjoy working collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced, constantly changing business environment. Your educational background includes a minimum 3 year post-secondary degree in a field related to Communications. Coursework in Marketing and experience working in a marketing function would be a definite asset. Competence in MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, InDesign and Acrobat is preferred along with a background in web content publishing using a recognised content publishing tool. Basic web stat analysis would be considered an asset.
