Help create a positive change for today and for generations to come.
Air Quality is an issue that concerns every citizen of British Columbia. The Environmental Protection Division (EPD) works to protect the human and environmental health of the province and provide leadership on behalf of the Ministry of Environment in establishing and ensuring compliance with high environmental standards to enhance environmental quality. The division works closely with local communities, industry, environmental stakeholders and First Nations to develop and enhance environmental stewardship activities and the response to high-risk environmental emergencies.
As Air Quality Meteorologist, you play a very important role, providing scientific and technical expertise on air quality issues and carrying out applied research programs aimed at understanding existing and emerging air quality issues. You also formulate programs and procedures for alleviating air quality concerns. An analytical thinker, your key responsibilities include developing and recommending programs, policies and procedures to reduce and control environmentally harmful air contaminant discharges from a broad range of source types. You also design and conduct research on the environmental problems due to specific air pollution sources and lead or contribute to air quality stewardship initiatives in local communities.
If you are seeking a challenging, interesting position in an organization that provides a flexible, dynamic, team-based working environment that encourages work/life balance, learning and development, we look forward to your application.
