As part of the SSHRC Storytellers contest, MA in Intercultural and International Communication student Brett Blair and School of Peace and Conflict Management Prof. Robin Cox teamed up to create a video about Cox's research.
Through a compelling video piece, Blair showcases the work of SSHRC Doctoral Fellowship-funded colleague Cox, who studies youth empowerment as part of disaster recovery. Emphasizing the research’s model of participatory, creative engagement, Blair’s video also explores the increasingly-vocal youth demographic and its impact on shaping disaster policy and practice. The video was released this week. Watch the video here.
Blair received a prize valued at $3,000, an invitation to a special communications workshop at Congress 2013 in Victoria and the chance to deliver a featured presentation at this year’s World Social Science Forum in Montreal. Learn more about the Storytellers contest here.
