Royal Roads co-presents Maritime Security Challenges conference in Victoria

Seven Royal Roads students and recent graduates are getting the business chance of a lifetime Aug. 22 as they make their pitches to some of the world’s most successful CEOs and entrepreneurs. The second annual Summit of Leaders, hosted in the LIC, will bring 100 leaders together to talk about trends and opportunities before they hear what the students and alumni have been working on in a Dragon’s Den-style opportunity.

The businesses include a start-up brewery, a values-based career matchmaking service, a storage facility in Fort McMurray, a management training company in Mongolia and a smart phone app for guitar players.

Guests include Don Mattrick, president and CEO of Microsoft Entertainment and Gaming; Lori Stewart, founding team with Ethor Media who built Ebay Canada; Pulitzer Prize-winning technology reporter Jon Swartz; and Royal Roads’ own alumnus Aaron Smith, founder of GoVoluntouring.com.
