We are gathering at Sneq'wa e'len (the Blue Heron House) on Friday, Nov. 15th, 2013, for a Louis Riel Day Celebration
10 am to 12 pm, please feel free to stop in to view the displays that will reflect the cultural aspect of the Metis Nation and information about Louis Riel, the Red River Rebellion.
This event will tie in with our monthly Indigenous Film and Potluck event. From 12 pm to 2pm, please bring your favorite dish to share and enjoy the short, 1972, Moccasin Flats film (25 mins long) about the portrait of the Cree village, Moccasin Flats; a film that discusses the problems and the unblemished beauty of the heritage, the land.
After the film, we will open for group Discussion Question: What do you know or what did you learn today about Metis identity and diversity?
Please join come join us to learn and share your knowledge. Come and go as you please, or feel free to stay for the full event.
We will have tea, bannock/fry bread, and jam also available!!
