MBA alumna appointed CEO of Jane Goodall Institute of Canada

Andria Teather is the new CEO of the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada effective Aug. 19, 2013.

Andria's early career in banking led her to leadership roles in community engagement, and she eventually became National Manager of the Canada Trust (now TD) Friends of the Environment Foundation, one of Canada's most significant funders of environmental projects. She subsequently worked in community relations in her home province of British Columbia as Senior Manager, Community Relations, B.C. & Yukon, where she was responsible for community initiatives and corporate giving. In 2002 Andria entered a new phase of her career, transitioning to the not-for-profit sector with engagements for Volunteer Vancouver, Volunteering Western Australia and YWCA Vancouver. She was the executive director of the Giving in Action Society and vice-president, Grants and Community Initiatives at the Vancouver Foundation, Canada's largest community foundation. Andria studied communications and holds an executive MBA with a specialty in Leadership from Royal Roads University. She has been a lifelong volunteer for a number of community organizations.
