The Employment Skills Access (ESA) Applied and Professional Skills Certificate program is a fully funded, 10 week part-time, face-to-face program offered through Continuing Studies with funding provided through the Canada-British Columbia Labour Market Agreement for those who are not EI eligible. The emphasis is on finding ‘preferred work with a preferred employer’ which translates into meaningful employment for program participants. ESA focuses on self-discovery and building self confidence by removing blocks and obstacles so students can pursue what truly motivates them. It’s a transformative process where old belief systems are shed as participants recognize their skills and accomplishments, and more easily articulate them on paper (resumé) and in person (job interview). It is designed to broaden the development of:
• Communication• Leadership• Planning and performance management• Critical thinking and problem-solving• Relationship & team-building• Social media• Basic Accounting• Entrepreneurial skills and• Computer literacy.
