Cob: the ultimate in sustainable housing

What is cob? Here's what Beth Cruise, Continuing Studies' facilitator and founder of Canadian Earth Institute, has to say about it.

"Cob is a building material composed of clay, sand, and straw. It comes from an Old English word meaning "lump" or "loaf."  This humble formula is very durable and requires little upkeep. It won’t burn, bugs won’t eat it, and it's dirt cheap. It is non-toxic; creates no waste and requires minimal tools to construct."

If you want to learn how to literally build a sustainable future, join Beth on Saturday, May 25, for Introduction to Cob Building. The earth will thank you.
