BCom alumnus Jeff Christie was featured in the Vancouver Sun this week. Read more to find out why.
One of the best ‘purely Canadian’ moments of the 2010 Olympics was the beer-swilling Whistler Village walkabout by toque-clad skeleton gold medalist Jon Montgomery. Veteran luger Jeff Christie didn’t come close to the podium himself -- he was 14th -- or find himself in the TV spotlight. But the now retired Calgarian -- he was born in Vancouver but moved to Alberta as an infant -- hopes to turn a passion for German lager and the brewing process into a rewarding post-sliding career.
Christie, 29, is in Victoria this week for convocation ceremonies at Royal Roads University where he just put in a full year of classes to earn a Bachelor of Commerce degree in entrepreneurial management. The degree is part of an ambitious plan to eventually open his own craft brewery, probably in the Calgary area.
