School of Communication and Culture associate faculty Jaigris Hodson will be starting a postdoctoral research position at Ryerson in early 2013.
Please join us in congratulating Jaigris on this new position! Jaigris currently teaches online and residency courses offered in the BA and MA in Professional Communication programs. Here is Jaigris’ formal announcement for the RRU family: "I am very excited to announce that I will be starting a postdoctoral research position at Ryerson in early 2013 (exact start date pending the completion of my dissertation revisions). It is a joint postdoc between the Vice Provosts office and the Diversity Institute at Ryerson which was created to specifically reflect some important work that I've been doing for both departments. I'll be spending half the time working on online education at Ryerson, and the other half the time working on the issue of diversity and leadership in the workplace. This is a very exciting opportunity, and I'm really happy that they have put it together for me.
I think that all my work with RRU, particularly with respect to online learning, really helped me get here, and I hope that it will be a solid stepping-stone towards some interesting and meaningful work in the future. I would really like to thank my RRU for everyone's ongoing support. I probably won't be able to make it out to Spring Residency, and I miss you all already, but I know your continued mentorship and support has helped me get as far as I have. I couldn't do any of this without each of you in my corner."
