We are expanding our team of desalination and water treatment technicians to support delivery, commissioning, and operation of our revolutionary desalination plants. The position will be based in our Richmond Facility, located at 13800 Steveston Highway, and also requires working at our international customer sites. We are looking for a hardworking individual with a positive attitude, who is willing to learn and assist as required. We will invest in training the right individuals; however, you must have the following experience and traits. Technical aptitude: the applicant must have formal relevant post-secondary education in a technical trade, chemistry, science, or engineering. We welcome applications from technologist and engineering recent graduates as there are long-term career paths for both types of applicants at Saltworks. 2. Mechanical and technical problem solving capability: the applicant must have hands-on mechanical or computer related background, for example, repairing bikes, cars, or building projects (i.e. fixing and building computers and phones, or being the family go-to handyperson / person for gadgets). Experience in troubleshooting process, mechanical, or electrical systems will be considered an asset. The applicant may be expected to change out pumps and complete light pipe fitting. 3. Computer literacy: the applicant must be competent with computer and basic software operation, specifically in Microsoft Excel. 4. Interest in work-travel and customer interface: the applicant will be expected to travel internationally and work at our customer sites, roughly 2-3 weeks at a time with as much as 40% of the work away from home. The applicant must have good listening and communication skills as well as excellent customer interfacing skills. 5. Endurance and completion: this position is not for the faint-hearted. The applicant must have endurance and perseverance to see challenging projects through to completion, at times working long days in faraway locations ("Get the job done" attitude to meet customer deadlines).
