The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award Program was established in 1982 through a grant by the Government of Canada to commemorate Terry's courage and tenacity in his cross-Canada Marathon of Hope. The Terry Fox Humanitarian Award recognizes the benevolence of young Canadians and encourages them to continue in their humanitarian work while attending college or university in Canada.
As the name implies, the Terry Fox Humanitarian Award recognizes humanitarian volunteer work. There is no set discipline students must study in order to receive the award, but they must maintain their academic, voluntary and career performance to a satisfactory level.
In order to be considered for a Terry Fox Humanitarian Award, students must submit one application form in Microsoft Word format, three referee forms (or letters of reference)and one official transcript of the past two years of schooling - no other forms are required. Incomplete application forms will not be considered.
Deadline is February 1st of every year.
