The Department of National Defence funds a series of scholarships and a fellowship to foster interest in and knowledge of security and defence issues among emerging Canadian scholars. Applications are considered by the Defence Team Steering Committee (DTSC) and are reviewed in consultation with the Advisory Panel, an external committee composed of academics and non-academic representatives selected by the Minister of National Defence. Applicants will be assessed by the DTSC on the relevance of their application to DND/CF engagement priorities.
Eligible Fields of Study: Studies relating to current and future Canadian security and defence issues, including their political, international, historical, social, military, and economic dimensions. Applicants must clearly demonstrate in their proposal the relationship of their study/project plans to DND/CF engagement priorities.

DEP Masters Scholarship 2 awards valued up to $15,000
DEP Aboriginal Scholarship 1 award valued at $15,000
