Aboriginal Scholarships

Flatiron – Graham, a joint venture (FGJV) building the Interior to Lower Mainland Transmission Line Project in British Columbia is committed to increasing the involvement of Aboriginal people in the Construction sector. FGJV has created a scholarship program to assist First Nations students from the First Nation communities located along the ILM project line who are pursuing full time post- secondary education studies in a field related to the construction industry.

Scholarship Amount:

Scholars will be awarded with a scholarship in the amount of $10,000, which is renewable for four years of continuous studies for a total maximum of $40,000 subject to suitable GPA levels being maintained.

Scholarship recipients will also be offered summer job placement opportunities during the term of their studies. Upon graduation, recipients will be offered a suitable full time position.


Students must be from one of the First Nation communities along the ILM corridor.

Students must be currently accepted for/enrolled in a post-secondary program. Preference will be given to individuals entering into their first year study in a discipline related to the construction sector; however students in all years of study are invited to apply. Accepted fields of study include: Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Engineering/ Management, Safety Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Surveying, Business Management. Application Process and Timeline:

Flatiron-Graham must receive the completed application form along with proof of ancestry, a copy of college or university letters of acceptance/proof of enrollment, a copy of high school transcripts, an academic reference letter, a community reference letter and a one page personal letter no later than 3:00 pm on November 22, 2013.

Applicants will be notified of receipt of their application & supporting documentation via email. Applicants will be notified of the selection process decision via email by Dec 13, 2013.
